European Constitution: What are the
economic and political reasons for rejection of Constitution at
popular referenda? Does the proposed constitution provide for
effective economic governance in the EU? Does it provide for
effective political governance in the EU and solve the problem
of democratic deficit? Or does it open the way for the EU to
become an overly centralized and overregulated economy? What is
now the best way forward in order to reconvene the public, make
marginal improvements to the proposal, or restart the whole
process and draft a completely new proposal? What would an ideal
EU constitution consist of? Or can we do without it?
Financial development in the EU: What are the economic
effects of barriers to labor mobility imposed by the "old"
member states? Can domestic workplaces really be preserved with
such measures? What would be the effects of free labor mobility
on low income countries within the EU, especially regarding
possible brain-drain? What would be the overall welfare effects
from increased migration?
